Neapolitan Crib at Colosseum
From December 22nd to January 5th, the Amphitheater will house, along the passageway to reach the ticket office, in the atmospheric scenery of a medieval crypt provided of a manger, a big Neapolitan crib. This work will be made by Ferrignos, a family of craftsmen working in Naples since 1836, who are among the masters of terracotta crafts and whose production is inspired to the XVIII century Naples.
The exposition will be flanked, on December 22nd and January 5th, by an handcraft “workshop” to show methods to make crib and its characters.
On 5th January, the visit only to the crib will be possible even after the monument usual closing time, from 4.00 pm to 7.00 pm: the initiative is aimed mainly to children, in the hours immediately before the Epiphany.
