Also this year the Superintendency is taking part in the European Night of Museums, the great European event aimed at fostering and spreading knowledge of Cultural Heritage among the widest number of citizens by granting free entry during a late-night opening to the sites listed below.

Free entry will be granted from 19 May at 20:00 to 20 May at 02:00 (last admission at 01.00).

Neapolitan Crib

From December 22nd to January 5th, the Amphitheater will house, along the passageway to reach the ticket office, in the atmospheric scenery of a medieval crypt provided of a manger, a big Neapolitan crib. This work will be made by Ferrignos, a family of craftsmen working in Naples since 1836, who are among the masters of terracotta crafts and whose production is inspired to the XVIII century Naples.

After months of work and research the halls of the “Ideal Scultptures”, on the first floor of the museum,open to the public with a new display. The masterpieces of Ancient Sculptures shine now a new light,  in a new space which helps to understand their historical and emotional value. The new exhibition system immerse the visitors in the artistic culture of Ancient Rome,which was inspired by the Ancient Greece art.
