"Palazzo Massimo in Sign Language" is an instrument promoted by the Educational Service of the Superintendency for the Archaeological Heritage of Rome in collaboration with the Faculty of Engineering of the University “Roma Tre” and the State Institute for the Deaf in Rome.
It is a free application available for tablets and smartphones and aimed at deaf visitors who can avail themselves of such a service by downloading it to their own mobile device.
Visitors can also opt for borrowing a tablet on which the app is already installed. It can be borrowed at the information desk of the museum and must be booked in advance by sending an email to ssba-rm [dot] servizioeducativo [at] beniculturali [dot] it.
In order for the booking to be considered valid, visitors must receive an email response from the Educational Service.
Any booking must be made at least 48 hours prior to the the visit date, Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 16:00.
Visitors must indicate full name, date of the visit and, if possible, time slot (e.g. “morning” or “afternoon”)
The application consists of a visit to Palazzo Massimo in ASL (American Sign Language) completed with a slide-show of photos and a series of videos and textual contents.
